Job Title Embedded Android Platform Developer – Android Automotive Connectivity (Bluetooth & Wi-Fi) Location Manila, Philippines (Onsite / Hybrid) Role Summary We are seeking an Embedded Android Platform Developer to design, integrate, and stabilize Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity on Android Automotive OS (AAOS) / AOSP platforms. The role focuses on hands-on platform development across the Android framework, services, and HAL layers to deliver reliable connectivity features, multi-user/multi-display support, and customer IVI use cases for automotive infotainment systems. Key Responsibilities Android Automotive Connectivity Bring-up Integrate Bluetooth and Wi-Fi drivers into AOSP/AAOS. Provision, configure, and adjust AOSP components including Vendor HAL, Supplicant HAL, Hostapd HAL, and related codecs. Perform platform build, flash, boot validation, and debugging using Android build tools and adb. Functional Bring-up & Feature Enablement Implement Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functional bring-up across standard profiles, modes, and Android architectures (STA, AP, Wi-Fi Aware, etc.). Implement additional BT/Wi-Fi features to improve stability, performance, and robustness beyond baseline connectivity. Multi-User / Multi-Display Support Enable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functionality across multiple users and displays in high-integration automotive scenarios. Develop required services, AIDL interfaces, and platform glue to support concurrent usage patterns. Customer IVI Use Cases Implement Bluetooth and Wi-Fi use cases across IVI scenarios, including: Concurrent BT connections with smartphones, apps, and accessories Bluetooth audio streaming,including dual streaming Wi-Fi hotspot, tethering behaviors, traffic shaping, band steering, and reconnection enhancements Projected modes (Android Auto, ACP, HiCar) and casting where applicable Implement diagnostics,logging,and module-level testing to ensure system stability. Follow architect-defined concepts and PoC outputs;implementation is primarily in Kotlin,Java,C/C++,and AIDL. Performance & Quality Measure and analyze connectivity performance,including Bluetooth audio latency. Use Android profiling tools (e.g.Perfetto) to identify and address performance bottlenecks. Strong problem-solving and hands-on mindset Effective collaboration with architects,testers,and cross-shore teams Ownership of quality,stability,and timely delivery Required Skills & Experience Proficient: AOSP / Android Automotive platform development Bluetooth and Wi-Fi integration in Android Android build system,adb,debugging tools HIDL / AIDL and binder-based services Kotlin and Java; working knowledge of C/C++ Android performance profiling tools Basic: Bluetooth profiles and Android BT architecture Wi-Fi standards,modes,and Android Wi-Fi architecture Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience 3+ years of Android or Embedded Android platform development (experience level flexible for strong AOSP profiles) Minimum 3 year(s) of experience is required
