Our Origin & Beyond team, based at our Micromine office in Almaty, are currently seeking a Software Developer. In this role you will work on a wide range of projects to enhance our Micromine software suite.

Origin & Beyond is our flagship software, which provides tools to help mining companies improve their operations through improved modelling, estimation, design, optimisation, and scheduling.

Reporting directly to the Software Development Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

• Interpreting functional requirements and enhancing Micromine’s software design.
• Developing efficient data processing algorithms.
• Developing quality and maintainable code in C++.
• Developing software that’s localisable and user friendly.
• Helping support clients as required.

This role will appeal to someone who enjoys being challenged and is able to work through complex problems.

In terms of experience, this role would be ideal for someone who has a few years of programming skill. However, we will also consider exceptional graduates for the position.

Other Key Skills, Experience, And Qualifications

• A tertiary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent IT qualification.
• C++ experience (or other applicable languages).
• Understanding of algorithmic complexity and a general sound knowledge of mathematics.
• Professional proficiency in English, written and spoken, is required
• Mining experience or exposure is a nice to have.
