Senior Specialist – Fund Onboarding Technology & Data Solutions

This is not a traditional fund accounting role.
The position sits within a project-based onboarding and migration environment focused on transitioning mutual fund clients from both external administrators and internal legacy platforms onto strategic BNY systems. The role combines operational exposure with a strong focus on technology, automation, data transformation, and solution development.
We are looking for someone with strong technical curiosity and a problem-solving mindset — someone who enjoys building solutions, improving processes, automating workflows, working with data, and helping design scalable onboarding and reconciliation capabilities for large platform migration projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Technology, and Onboarding teams to support development and enhancement of onboarding, migration, and reconciliation solutions used during complex client transitions and strategic platform transformation initiatives.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Designing, developing, and enhancing reconciliation and migration support solutions used during mutual fund onboarding projects,
- Supporting development and expansion of internal onboarding and operational platforms,
- Working with large and complex financial data sets across multiple systems and databases,
- Creating automation solutions to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processing,
- Performing SQL-based analysis, data validation, troubleshooting, and issue investigation activities,
- Supporting data mapping, transformation, reconciliation, and migration processes between source and target platforms,
- Collaborating closely with Technology, Operations, Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, Custody, and Client Service teams,
- Participating in strategic platform transformation and onboarding technology initiatives,
- Identifying opportunities for process optimization, automation, and operational improvements,
- Supporting testing, debugging, implementation, and enhancement activities for onboarding and migration solutions,
- Helping build scalable operational and technical solutions to support future onboarding growth and platform evolution.
- 4+ years of experience in operational, analytical, technical, or transformation-focused roles, ideally involving migrations, automation, data solutions, or platform support,
- Strong technical and analytical mindset,
- Experience with SQL and relational databases,
- Exposure to automation, scripting, or technical solution development,
- Experience with tools such as Alteryx, Python, VBA, Power BI, or similar technologies,
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills,
- Ability to work with large and complex data structures,
- Interest in technology-driven operational transformation,
- Strong attention to detail and ownership mentality,
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders,
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment,
- Very good English communication skills.
- Experience with data migration or transformation activities,
- Exposure to APIs, workflow tools, or system integrations,
- Experience within financial services, operations, onboarding, or platform migration environments,
- Understanding of automation and process improvement methodologies,
- Experience supporting strategic transformation or modernization initiatives,
- Interest in building scalable operational and technology-driven solutions.
