Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data & Platform Engineer to design, build, and scale the core data infrastructure that supports AI-powered products. This role goes beyond building data pipelines—you'll create the foundational systems, tooling, and platform capabilities that enable engineering teams to develop, deploy, and operate reliable, high-performance applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend systems and platform integrations.
• Build and maintain the company's data platform, including orchestration, pipelines, and developer tooling.
• Create reliable systems for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and access.
• Design scalable data models, APIs, and database architectures.
• Optimize schemas, indexing strategies, database migrations, and overall system performance.
• Manage infrastructure supporting data and AI workloads using cloud-native technologies.
• Enable self-service data workflows for engineering and product teams.
• Improve platform observability, reliability, monitoring, and performance.
• Support AI and machine learning workflows, including vector databases, embeddings, and model pipelines.
• Develop tools for document processing, metadata management, and data normalization.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, backend engineering, or infrastructure development.
• Proven experience designing, building, and owning production systems.
• Strong backend system design and API development experience.
• Deep understanding of data modeling and relational databases.
• Experience designing scalable, reliable, and high-performance distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency with Golang, SQL, Terraform, and AWS.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with a high degree of ownership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large language models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or vector search technologies.
• Experience supporting AI/ML infrastructure and workflows.
• Fintech or other regulated industry experience.
• Previous experience working at an early-stage or high-growth startup.
