Role Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer/Data Analyst to improve our data performance, create effective reports, and design reporting architectures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for query optimization, report generation, database modifications, and aggregation strategies to support business intelligence and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities:

• SQL Query Optimization – Improve the performance of existing queries, indexes, and database operations to ensure efficient data extraction.

• Report Creation – Develop detailed reports and dashboards using SQL, BI tools (e.g. Superset, Power BI, Looker, Tableau), or stored procedures.

• Database Data Transformation – Update, transform, and manipulate data securely while ensuring data integrity.

• Building Aggregations for Reporting – Designing effective data aggregation strategies to support real-time and scheduled reporting.

• Designing Report Architecture – Developing and maintaining a scalable and structured reporting system for various business needs.

• Tuning Database Performance – Monitoring query execution plans and optimizing indexing, partitioning, and caching.

• Working with Stakeholders – Collaborating with business analysts and stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and provide actionable insights.

Requirements:

• Strong SQL skills – Expertise in writing complex queries, stored procedures, and optimizing database performance.

• Reporting Tool Experience – Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tools.

• Database Experience – Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.

• ETL and Data Transformation – Understanding ETL processes and managing data pipelines.

• Indexing and Partitioning – Experience in query tuning, indexing strategies and database partitioning.

• Problem-solving skills – Ability to debug slow queries and improve database performance.
