Senior Data Engineer – Data Governance & Quality Enablement
Location: Pune, India

Role Summary
We are seeking a highly capable Senior Data Engineer with expertise in data engineering, data governance, and data quality enablement. The role focuses on building scalable data platforms and ensuring that enterprise data is reliable, governed, and ready for analytics consumption. The individual will work closely with business, analytics, and IT teams to deliver high-quality data solutions supporting enterprise reporting and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Platform
Design and build scalable data pipelines (batch and real-time).
Develop and optimize data models and transformation logic for analytics use.
Ensure performance and reliability of enterprise data platforms (Snowflake, Oracle, Azure).
Implement monitoring for data freshness, accuracy, and pipeline health.
Data Governance & Quality
Implement and enforce data governance standards including classification, lineage, and access controls.
Drive metadata management and adoption of enterprise data catalog tools.
Define and monitor data quality rules, validations, and issue resolution processes.
Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear data ownership and business definitions.
Data Enablement & Consumption
Enable business users with trusted and well-documented datasets.
Support BI tools such as Power BI and Sigma with optimized data models.
Improve data discoverability and promote self-service analytics adoption.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
Propose simplified and efficient solution designs.
Drive testing, validation, and deployment with stakeholders.
Operational Excellence
Identify and resolve data and pipeline issues proactively.
Ensure adherence to SLAs, governance, and reliability standards.
Continuously improve automation, performance, and cost efficiency.
Experience
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform roles.
Technical Skills
Strong SQL and relational database expertise.
Experience with Snowflake, Oracle, or Azure Data Services.
Proficiency in Python or Java, and ETL/ELT tools (ADF).
Knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and processing frameworks.
Data Governance & Quality
Experience with data governance frameworks and data quality monitoring.
Hands-on experience with metadata and data catalog tools (Purview, Collibra, Alation).
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
Ability to work across cross-functional global teams.
Nice to Have
Experience with Kafka, Spark, or real-time processing.
Exposure data privacy and compliance frameworks.
Experience with BI tools like Power BI or Sigma.
