Data Architect

Role Overview

We are looking for a Hands-on Data Architect to design, build, and optimize modern data platforms and architectures on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate combines strong architectural expertise with practical development experience, actively contributing to the implementation of scalable and high-performance data solutions using Databricks, Azure, Python, and PySpark.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing data architectures on Azure.
• Act as a hands-on technical leader, contributing directly to the development and optimization of data solutions.
• Build and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines using Databricks, Python, and PySpark.
• Define and implement modern data platform architectures, including Data Lake, Lakehouse, and Data Warehouse solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, Data Engineers, Analysts, and other technical teams to translate business requirements into robust data solutions.
• Establish best practices, architectural standards, and governance frameworks for data management.
• Ensure data quality, security, reliability, and compliance across the data ecosystem.
• Optimize platform performance, scalability, and cost efficiency in Azure environments.
• Support cloud migration and data modernization initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineering teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer with strong architectural responsibilities.

Extensive hands-on experience with:

• Azure Data Services
• Databricks
• Python
• PySpark
• Strong knowledge of modern data architectures, including Data Lakes and Lakehouse platforms.
• Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT processes and large-scale data pipelines.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data integration, and data governance principles.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture patterns and distributed data processing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and DevOps methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure DevOps.
• Azure and/or Databricks certifications.
• Experience with Data Governance, Data Quality, and Master Data Management frameworks.
• Exposure to advanced analytics and machine learning platforms.
