The Measurement Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of volumetric and compositional measurement data utilized in revenue allocation and management review. This role requires advanced analytical capabilities, technical proficiency, and a steadfast commitment to regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will safeguard data precision, support operational efficiency, and collaborate across departments to facilitate seamless financial and commercial accounting processes.
Core Responsibilities
- Execute Pre-Close Procedures: Perform pre-close measurement procedures efficiently within established organizational deadlines.
- Analyze Operational Data: Identify, research, analyze, and report measurement anomalies; provide comprehensive logistical and technical support to Measurement Operations.
- Facilitate Data Transfer: Compile, review, and transfer final volumetric and compositional analysis data to the revenue accounting, marketing, and commercial departments.
- Validate Measurement Integrity: Validate preliminary and closed measurement data for accuracy and completeness, strictly adhering to the standard operating procedures of A leading Midstream firm.
- Investigate Discrepancies: Investigate volume discrepancies thoroughly and execute necessary corrections to confirm precise information.
- Manage Closing Timelines: Produce and deliver verified measurement data to accounting for monthly allocations, settlement, and balancing, consistently meeting the closing deadline of the fifth workday each month.
- Resolve Process Issues: Identify and resolve systemic or transactional issues promptly during the monthly closing cycle.
- Liaise with Cross-Functional Teams: Communicate effectively with Measurement Specialists, Measurement Technicians, and Accounting personnel to resolve data and balance discrepancies.
- Manage Stakeholder Interfaces: Interface professionally with internal and external stakeholders to provide reports, deliver data, and resolve inquiries in a timely manner.
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with federal and state regulatory agency reporting and documentation requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and other applicable statutory rules.
Required Qualifications
- Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
- Education: Associate degree from an accredited community college or completion of a certificate program in a related technical discipline from an accredited post-secondary school. Documented, relevant measurement experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Industry Experience: Two or more years of professional experience within the oil and gas sector.
- Analytical Experience: Two or more years of experience analyzing and interpreting data, identifying trends, and researching variance drivers.
- Technical Systems Proficiency: Two or more years of dedicated experience utilizing FLOWCAL, TestIT, and Power BI.
- Mathematical Aptitude: Advanced mathematical skills, including proficiency with percentages, averages, order of operations, exponents, standard deviations, minimum/maximum values, and algebraic equation solving.
- Technical Measurement Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of gas measurement fundamentals, including the principles and operation of orifice meters. Proven ability to apply industry standards (such as AGA3, API 14.3, and GPA 2185) for orifice measurement, interpret differential pressure readings, and utilize standard calculations to determine gas flow rates.
- Data Management: Exceptional and accurate data entry skills, paired with an intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including mathematical and functional formulas), Word, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications
- Midstream Expertise: Three or more years of specialized measurement experience within a midstream organization.
- Advanced Systems Experience: Three or more years of experience operating electronic flow measurement systems, managing flow computer operations, and executing data acquisition via telecommunication and SCADA systems.
- Field Instrumentation Knowledge: Experience with the calibration, inspection, and troubleshooting of orifice measurement systems.
