Data Product Manager, Capital Markets

New York, NY (Hybrid)

At Fundbox, we're building the future of embedded capital, providing faster access to funding into the tools that small businesses use every day. As we scale our capital markets operations, we're looking for a Data Product Manager to own the data integrity and reporting infrastructure that underpins our lender relationships. This role is based out of our office in the heart of Chelsea, steps from the High Line and Chelsea Market, surrounded by some of New York's best food, energy, and tech scene. It's a hybrid role, giving you the flexibility to work from home while staying connected to the team in one of the city's most vibrant neighborhoods.

In this role, you will be responsible for independently pulling, validating, and productizing the loan portfolio data we report to our lending partners and investors. Accurate, timely reporting is critical, it directly impacts our ability to maintain and grow the funding that powers Fundbox's mission. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who thinks like a product manager and executes like a data engineer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end data reporting for our capital markets facilities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness for all lender and investor reporting obligations
  • Independently write and maintain SQL and Python pipelines to extract, validate, and transform loan portfolio data from multiple internal sources
  • Identify potential gaps in existing reporting processes and proactively build solutions, including flagging where data can become misaligned across systems
  • Translate business and compliance requirements into clear, airtight data specifications for our Business Intelligence and engineering teams
  • Treat reporting as a product — own the requirements, documentation, and quality standards for all capital markets data outputs
  • Oversee and review the work of other data analysts who support capital markets reporting, ensuring quality and alignment with standards
  • Partner closely with the capital markets, credit, and finance teams to understand how reporting requirements evolve as the business grows

Job Requirements:

  • 4–6 years of experience in a data, analytics, or reporting role; experience in fintech, financial services, or lending is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python: you can pull and transform data independently without guidance
  • Strong product mindset: you write clear requirements, think through edge cases, and communicate data logic precisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience managing or overseeing analytical work across teams or geographies
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple workstreams without close supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting findings and issues to senior leadership
  • BS/MS in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Engineering) preferred
  • Capital markets or structured finance experience is a nice-to-have, not a requirement — we will teach you the domain
