Data Scientist / Analytics Specialist

Location: Saint-Denis, Réunion Island

Contract: Permanent (full-time)

Start date: As soon as possible


Role Overview

Reporting to the Head of Development, you will play a key role in transforming company data into actionable insights that support operational efficiency and strategic decision-making. You will work across multiple data sources to extract value and help guide business performance.


Key Responsibilities


Data Analysis & Management

  • Gather and organise data from various internal platforms
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and usability
  • Develop reports, KPIs, and dashboards to support business decisions

Model Development & Tools

  • Design and implement predictive models (e.g. demand forecasting, maintenance optimisation)
  • Build and maintain decision-support tools using data science and machine learning techniques

Business Insights & Performance

  • Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Contribute to improving service quality and anticipating future needs
  • Support performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay informed about developments in data science and artificial intelligence
  • Propose and explore new data-driven solutions to enhance business operations

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal teams such as operations, marketing, and engineering
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including clients and public sector partners


Candidate Profile

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field
  • Proven experience in data analysis and statistical modelling
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, and SQL
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI or similar platforms)
  • Familiarity with large datasets and AI or machine learning frameworks

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Experience managing projects and handling complex datasets
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across diverse teams
  • Curious, innovative, and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of discretion


Additional Advantage

Experience within transport, mobility, or related systems (e.g. ticketing platforms, operational control systems) would be beneficial but is not essential.
