We need a Senior Financial Systems Engineer to take ownership of our financial data ecosystem. As we continue to grow, we are needing to further develop and design our data infrastructure to ensure we are able to tell a clean, financial story. This is a full-time role and will work a hybrid schedule based in Lehi, UT.
What is a day in the life of a Senior Financial Systems Engineer?
- Maintain and enhance databases, data warehouses, and reporting infrastructure
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy across FP&A reporting systems
- Assist in managing financial processes including operating plan, long-range planning, financial forecasts, month end close, management reporting, and board reporting
- Refine Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement modeling, reporting, and analysis to be more accurate and ensure liquidity and flexibility for business investments
- Take ownership of data architecture and financial modeling in our financial planning system, driving innovation in our reporting and financial analysis
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, or other related field
- 4+ years of experience of relevant financial experience, including experience in FP&A
- Strong proficiency in corporate finance concepts and systems
- Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills
- Outstanding communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders
- Commitment to continuous improvement in processes, forecast accuracy, and key reporting metrics
- Experience with Relational Databases and SQL
- Experience with Workday Adaptive, a plus
- Owns and strengthens the financial data ecosystem, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and reliability across all FP&A systems and reporting
- Delivers forecast excellence, producing accurate plans, forecasts, and reporting that leadership and the board trust
- Builds scalable and reliable financial models, improving
- Balance Sheet and Cash Flow visibility to support liquidity and investment decisions
- Drives innovation in financial systems, enhancing data architecture, automation, and reporting efficiency
- Acts as a strategic finance partner, turning complex data into clear insights that influence business decisions
- You will expand your influence across the organization by leading increasingly complex, cross-functional projects that will drive meaningful change
- First 30 Days: Focus on learning the existing systems, data infrastructure, and key financial processes, and establishing stakeholder relationships.
- First 60 Days: Actively support core financial processes, begin refining financial models (especially Balance Sheet and Cash Flow), and utilize SQL/databases for analysis and process improvement.
- First 90 Days: Take ownership of data architecture and financial modeling in the planning system, build scalable financial models, and act as a strategic finance partner by translating complex data into business-influencing insights.
- You will work with the other Finance team and be supervised by the Business Intelligence Engineer Manager. You will also be mentored by the Head of FP&A and meet with them on a regular basis to discuss your performance. This team is data driven and results oriented. You will collaborate regularly with members of your team to implement actionable solutions. Ideas and input are encouraged from all members.
