About the Role
This position is responsible for the operation and performance of a department. The individual in this role will also be expected to perform additional job-related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or required.
What You’ll Do
- Convert complex business needs into analytical, data-driven, or mathematical solutions.
- Select the appropriate methodologies, tools, and approaches to address business problems.
- Understand industry dynamics, cross-functional domains, and key business metrics.
- Build business cases with clear ROI and provide recommendations for complex challenges.
- Identify where data resides (SQL, NoSQL, and distributed systems) and assess data quality.
- Select the most appropriate data sources aligned with business requirements and SLAs.
- Apply hands-on experience with ETL processes, batch and streaming pipelines, APIs, and data crawlers.
- Build scalable data pipelines and preprocess data, including integration, normalization, and feature engineering.
- Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Utilize modeling tools (e.g., Erwin) to define schemas, relationships, keys, and procedures.
- Evaluate and optimize existing data models.
- Demonstrate strong programming skills in SQL, Python, Java, or C++.
- Write test cases, build proofs of concept (POCs), validate solutions, and support production deployment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 3 years of experience in software engineering or a related field; or
- 5 years of experience in software engineering or a related field; or
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 1 year of experience in software engineering or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 3 years of experience in software engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.
