This role will be responsible for building and maintaining the technical capabilities of our internal developer platform, enabling seamless software delivery within GAMING1 in a robust, secure, observable, resilient, and self-service way.

At GAMING1, Platform Engineers are the builders and maintainers of the technical capabilities that power our internal developer platform. We treat our platform as a product, with our engineering teams as our customers, and our core principle is providing self-serviceability to reduce cognitive load and empower these teams.


YOUR ROLE


You will:

  • Co-Design and implement platform capabilities using Infrastructure-as-Code principles
  • Create self-service tools and automation that improve developer productivity
  • Ensure security standards are applied and kept up to date
  • Monitor performance, capacity, and availability from a customer-centric point of view
  • Implement and validate disaster recovery procedures and processes
  • Proactively test the flexibility and resilience of the platform
  • Research, experiment with, and evaluate new technologies to drive platform innovation
  • Evangelize platform capabilities through documentation and workshops
  • Collect and act on user feedback to continuously improve the platform experience


YOUR PROFILE


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or related fields
  • Strong platform engineering mindset: focus on self-serviceability, automation, and developer experience
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm)
  • Ability to write code for automation purposes (Python, .NET, or similar)
  • Understanding of security standards for operational platforms

  • Product thinking: ability to understand user needs and prioritize platform features accordingly
  • Willingness to take calculated risks and experiment with new approaches to solve difficult problems
  • Experience building self-service interfaces and developer portals
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and developer experience tools
  • Knowledge of observability tools (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana)
  • Experience with PostgreSQL database systems, RabbitMQ message brokers, Kafka streaming platforms or IAM providers
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team while knowing when to work autonomously
  • Strong communication skills and ability to share technical knowledge
