We have partnered with a Manchester-based technology and market research company that is looking for a Data Engineer to join its growing team. Over the past decade, they have supported some of the world's leading brands with data-driven intelligence that drives growth and decision-making. Following a period of strong expansion, they continue to invest heavily in their engineering and data capabilities as they scale through 2026.

You'll work alongside experienced Data Engineers, contributing to the development of scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions. This is a hands-on role where you'll gain exposure to AWS, Python, Airflow, and modern data engineering practices while being supported to grow your technical skills.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with some commercial experience using Apache Spark who wants to accelerate their career in data engineering.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Develop cloud-native solutions using AWS (including S3).
• Use Apache Spark and Airflow to process and orchestrate large datasets.
• Write and maintain Python-based data services and tooling.
• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of data platforms.
• Support infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver data solutions.

Key requirements

• Some commercial or practical experience using Apache Spark.
• A genuine passion for data engineering and a desire to continue learning.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
