Senior Data Engineer
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid – 2 days/week in office)
Compensation: $120,000–$130,000 base salary + 15% annual performance bonus
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize modern data platforms and integration solutions. This role requires expertise in building scalable data pipelines, implementing cloud-based data architectures, and integrating enterprise systems. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in SQL, Microsoft Fabric, MuleSoft, and modern ETL/ELT technologies.
Required Technical Skills
- Advanced SQL development, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Microsoft Fabric (Data Engineering, Pipelines, Lakehouse, and Analytics workloads)
- MuleSoft (API-led connectivity, integrations, and orchestration)
- Strong Python programming skills
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Azure Data Factory and SSIS
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and lakehouse architectures
- Familiarity with Big Data technologies including Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka
- Understanding of modern cloud data warehouse architecture and massively parallel processing (MPP)
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, maintain, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and processing.
- Develop reliable, high-performance data solutions that support analytics and business operations.
- Design and implement data models, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures.
- Optimize SQL queries, storage, and database performance through indexing, partitioning, and caching strategies.
- Build and support enterprise integrations using MuleSoft and API-led architecture.
- Develop and maintain Microsoft Fabric data engineering solutions and analytics workloads.
- Deploy, manage, and optimize cloud-based data platforms across Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, analysts, and software development teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex data and integration issues while ensuring data quality and reliability.
- Document technical solutions and follow data engineering best practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 6+ years, PhD with 3+ years, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience designing and building enterprise-scale data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, integration patterns, and cloud technologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across both technical and business teams.
Additional Information
- Hybrid schedule: 2 days per week in the Atlanta office
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
