- Data-driven technology spin off from a leading aviation strategy, logistics, air cargo consultancy.
- Building data driven SaaS tools that help airlines make informed commercial decisions from; routes, maintenance, demand planning, operations and forecast models
- Work with a niche market leader, get international exposure & (optional) international travel.
- 2 core SaaS products that are mature - actively used by customers & continuously evolving.
- 1 successful data product is already in place that provides market insights from the supply side. A new data product targeting the demand side is currently in its initial phase, with significant development and scaling planned for H2 2025 and into 2026
- A combination of data engineering + statistical analytics
- Design, develop and implement data pipelines that ingest and transform large volumes of data, and scalable data models that power the core platform
- Identify and study trends, perform ad-hoc analysis to generate insights that help clients navigate decision-making
- Reporting to either the Head of KL office who is leading the core data product, or Head of Engineering who has relocated from EU to KL, while working alongside a lead/senior Data Engineers based across KL and EU
- Entrepreneurial and ambitious team from KL and EU, which include ex management consultants
- The engineering hub in KL (15 staff) supports software development, data engineering and analytics
Must-have skills
- Proficiency in SQL and Python in data transformation, cleaning, preparation etc.
- Experienced in performing data enhancement or enrichment through various statistical analysis and methodology
- Strong analytical mindset with a passion for working with numbers and turning data into actionable insights > ability to define and solve ambiguous, open-ended business problems through exploratory and analytical approaches
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Pyspark / Databricks / AWS cloud infrastructure
- Background in consulting or a quantitative degree > Statistics / Economics / Mathematics / Finance
- 100% individual contributor role
- 4-5+ years of hands-on data experience
- Similar job titles - you are likely a Data Scientist (Product Analyst) / Actuarial Scientist or Analyst in your company
- This role is NOT suitable for data analysts with experience of only building dashboards and automation
- Hybrid with 3 days work from office
- Based in Bangsar South
