Business Intelligence Analyst

This position will travel approximately 10% of the time.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation
- systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business
- decisions.
- Oversee new dataset creation and ensure compatibility through architectural
- structure.
- Write scripts to make API calls and retrieve data for analysis and reporting
- Write and interpret SQL queries for data extraction and analysis
- Generate automated multi-page reports that refresh based on a set schedule.
- Provide routine support for all companies’ business intelligence needs.
- Organize and drive successful completion of data insight initiatives through effective people and resource management, communication, and collaboration with stakeholders.
- Maintain existing reports while improving or redesigning them when they no longer meet performance, usability or business needs
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex technical documents.
- Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to present information effectively and persuasively.
- Organizes and prioritizes critical tasks to meet project timelines. Identifies resources required to complete tasks and escalates issues when conflicts occur.
- Ability to make sound judgments and take the initiative to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and make decisions within the functional area of responsibility with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to work with customers to frame project implementations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Math, Economics, or related field.
- Understanding of business operations fundamentals and workflow.
- Experience with database management and architecture.
- Marine and/or Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience with cloud development and data infrastructure preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, Excel, and Smartsheet.
- Coding expertise including Python and SQL
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and data entry
- Occasional standing, walking, and reaching
- Ability to lift up to 10–15 pounds, if applicable
- Visual acuity to view screens and read documents
