Key Responsibilites

• Lead the AI & Data Ecosystem: Drive the end-to-end system design, delivery, and technical standards across both AI Development and Data Engineering squads.
• Own the Data-to-AI Pipeline: Oversee the full lifecycle of AI features in production, from unstructured data ingestion (Scraping, Chunking, Embedding) to architecture decisions, monitoring, and iteration.
• Architect Complex Workflows: Guide the team in designing highly reliable, multi-agent orchestration systems and advanced retrieval mechanisms (RAG, Graph RAG) tailored for high-stakes, precision-critical environments.
• Cross-Functional Synergy: Coordinate closely with Backend (Java/Go), Frontend, DevOps, and Product teams to ship cohesive, reliable, and secure AI-powered solutions.
• Drive Execution & Reliability: Own sprint planning and execution rhythm. Set and enforce rigorous standards for code quality, deployment practices, and LLM system reliability (guardrails, fallback strategies, zero-hallucination focus).
• Scale the Engineering Culture: Manage technical debt strategically without compromising velocity. Lead technical onboarding, mentor engineers, and build a culture of fast shipping, structured experimentation, and continuous learning.

What We're Looking For

• Proven AI & Data Leadership: 3+ years of engineering management or tech lead experience, specifically overseeing AI, LLM, or Data Engineering teams in fast-growing, high-delivery cadence startups.
• Deep Architectural Expertise: Hands-on experience architecting complex RAG pipelines, Graph RAG, and agentic workflows in production (including tool-use orchestration, multi-step routing, and human-in-the-loop designs).
• Tech Stack Fluency: Strong backend engineering foundation with proficiency in Python and/or Go, enabling you to effectively review code, guide architecture, and unblock your team.
• System Reliability at Scale: Strong understanding of observability, iteration loops, and evaluation metrics for AI systems, alongside scalable search, indexing, and vector retrieval systems.
• Precision Mindset: Experience building AI solutions for domains that require high accuracy, security, and strict compliance (handling complex, unstructured text with minimal error margins).
• Absolute Ownership: You hold the bar, you unblock the team, and you ship. You possess a strong product sense and the ability to translate complex technical constraints into simple, impactful solutions.
