Analytics Engineer - Build Qasa’s data foundation
Indexed description
We’re now strengthening our data team to move from being a support function to becoming a true driver of Qasa’s growth. This role isn’t about running isolated analyses or building experimental models in a corner. It’s about making Qasa a more data-native company:
- Aligning our metrics and definitions so everyone speaks the same language.
- Making our tracking and acquisition data trustworthy.
- Embedding data into everyday product, marketing, and finance decisions.
- Building self-serve tools that reduce bottlenecks and let everyone work confidently with data.
What you’ll do
- Define and align KPIs: Partner with Product, Marketing, Finance, Support, and Country Managers to agree on consistent metrics and terminology, ensuring everyone speaks the same language.
- Lay the foundation for self-serve analytics: Enable teams to answer their own questions with confidence by making data easier to navigate, trust, and use.
- Design and maintain data models: Own the layer between raw data and insights. Design and build our core data models from the ground up, establishing a scalable structure between raw data and business insights.
- Tell stories with data: Translate data into clear insights that inform product bets, marketing strategies, and financial planning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with engineering (to ensure pipelines deliver what’s needed) and with different teams (to embed data into everyday decisions).
- Support governance and compliance: Contribute to data governance practices (access policies, GDPR deletions, auditability).
- Potentially: Experiment with forecasting, modeling, or ML, and help us bring promising ideas into production.
- Strong SQL skills and experience modeling data.
- Experience designing and maintaining data models that turn raw data into clean, reusable, business-ready datasets.
- Ability to define and maintain KPIs and ensure consistent metric definitions across teams.
- Solid skills in data analysis and storytelling. You don’t just analyze numbers, you make them meaningful.
- Familiarity with BI tools (we mainly use Metabase) and enabling self-serve analytics.
- A collaborative mindset: you enjoy working with different functions and making data accessible.
- Business understanding. You’re curious about how different parts of a company work, e.g. product, marketing, finance, and use data to connect them.
- Interest or experience in using AI tools to support your workflow (e.g. writing SQL, exploring data, or improving documentation).
- Familiarity with tracking platforms like Amplitude and GA4.
- Experience deploying or supporting data products.
- Experience with GDPR/legal aspects of data governance.
What we offer
- 30 paid vacation days.
- Pension and insurance: Contributions follow the same formula as ITP1 (4.5% of salary up to 7.5 income base amounts, 30% above that), along with standard life, disability, and work-injury coverage.
- Salary exchange for extra savings: You can redirect up to ~10% of your gross salary into pension savings. Qasa adds a 6% top-up on the exchanged amount, providing favorable tax treatment.
- Extra parental salary: 10% of salary for 2 months (after 1 year) and 6 months (after 3 years).
- Wellness allowance: SEK 5,000 per year to support health and wellbeing.
- A small, high-impact team where you’ll have real ownership and autonomy.
- The chance to shape the future of Qasa’s data function at a pivotal stage of growth.
- Flexibility: hybrid setup in our Stockholm office.
- Laptop and cellphone.
Our goal is to be the backbone of Qasa’s data-driven culture, ensuring insights, models, and infrastructure empower every part of the business. We act as both strategic partner and technical enabler. We:
- Work with product teams on exploratory analysis, testing, modeling, and user-facing data products (e.g. rent prediction, pricing).
- Maintain pipelines and infrastructure to ensure data is reliable, scalable, and accessible.
- Enable teams like Marketing, Finance, and Support with analytics, KPI tracking, and forecasting.
- Drive analytics data governance and strategy, curating metrics and definitions everyone can trust.
- Experiment with ML/AI through Hack Weeks and student collaborations.
- Core stack: We’ve recently centralized data in Redshift. PostgreSQL, Metabase, and Python remain important parts of how we work today, and a big part of this role will be helping shape the data models, structure, and best practices that sit on top of our evolving platform. Our backend is written in Ruby on Rails.
- Tracking tools: Amplitude + GA4 for product and marketing analytics.
- Infrastructure: AWS services (including Lambda functions) to serve models and automate data workflows (e.g. rent prediction, inference endpoints, pipelines).
- Strengths: Strong communication, quick support, growing self-serve access, widely used materialized views.
- Aligning on consistent KPIs across product, marketing, and finance.
- Making acquisition and tracking data more trustworthy.
- Helping non-data teams navigate tables, dashboards, and metrics without confusion.
- Supporting GDPR-related governance questions (cold storage, deletions, ownership).
- Shifting from reactive helpdesk-style support to a more proactive, strategic function.
Our hiring process
- Intro chat (30 min): a short conversation about your experience, how we work, and what you’re looking for.

- Case discussion (1 h): walk us through your solution and collaborate on next steps.
- Values & judgment interview (30–45 min): meet one of our leaders to talk about decision-making and culture.
