Role Overview
We are looking for a Principal Data Consultant to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale data platforms across healthcare, retail, education, and enterprise domains. The ideal candidate brings 12+ years of hands-on experience spanning data architecture, ETL/ELT engineering, cloud migration, and advanced analytics — combined with a track record of translating complex business requirements into scalable, governed data solutions. This is a senior, client-facing role that blends architecture leadership, technical mentorship, and hands-on engineering across AWS and GCP ecosystems.
Position Identification
• Working time: Monday to Friday, 14:00-23:00
• Start date: ASAP
• Engagement: Long-term
• Language: English professional mandatory
• Salary: Negotiable
• Locals & Expats are welcome
Key Responsibilities
• Architect end-to-end data platforms — conceptual, logical, and physical models — aligned to business and analytics needs.
• Design and deliver lakehouse, data warehouse, and cloud-native analytics solutions on AWS and GCP.
• Engineer scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica, SSIS, Apache Spark (PySpark/Scala), AWS Glue, Apache Airflow, and Cloud Composer.
• Lead large-scale data and platform modernization initiatives, including on-premises-to-cloud migrations with zero data loss.
• Define and enforce data governance, quality, and standards across multi-source data feeds.
• Build advanced analytics solutions — including graph-based models (Neo4j), demand forecasting, recommendation engines, and near-real-time streaming pipelines.
• Partner with product, BI, and business teams to deliver dashboards and analytics that drive measurable outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership: architecture reviews, code reviews, mentorship, and knowledge transfer across engineering teams.
• Engage with senior client stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into actionable data roadmaps.
• Stay current with emerging data, ML, and cloud technologies and apply them to client problems.
• Improve reliability, performance, and maintainability of existing processes.
• Develop logging, monitoring, and operational support mechanisms.
• Support deployment and operation of data workflows within AWS — working with Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, Amazon RDS, Amazon SQS, and Amazon CloudWatch.
• Participate in automation and cloud-based operational improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 12+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, and analytics platform delivery.
• Deep expertise in enterprise data modeling — dimensional, normalized, and star schema designs.
• Hands-on mastery of ETL/ELT tooling: Informatica, SSIS, Apache Spark (PySpark and Scala), AWS Glue, Apache Airflow, Cloud Composer.
• Strong proficiency with AWS services: S3, EMR, Lambda, Redshift, Kinesis, Step Functions, Glue, SageMaker.
• Strong proficiency with GCP services: BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Dataflow, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, GKE, Cloud SQL.
• Expertise across databases: Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Neo4j, Teradata.
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, Scala, HiveQL, and SparkSQL.
• Experience designing BI and visualization solutions with Power BI, Tableau, OBIEE, BI Publisher, MicroStrategy, SSRS, or Crystal Reports.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams, mentoring engineers, and managing senior stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Applied experience in machine learning, predictive modeling, and advanced analytics.
• Experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical data (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony Health, KOMODO Health, Veeva).
• Background in retail analytics, customer 360, or demand forecasting solutions.
• Cloud certifications (AWS, GCP) or Oracle BI Foundation Suite certification.
• Experience speaking at workshops, conferences, or contributing to thought leadership in data.
Education
• MS in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline (preferred).
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent (required).
