Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer at Masan Group, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and infrastructure to support enterprise-wide analytics and reporting.

You will work with Azure Databricks, Spark, and modern cloud data technologies to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure data delivery across Masan’s ecosystem — from Retail and FMCG to F&B and Loyalty platforms.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on data architecture, performance optimization, governance, and CI/CD automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply data governance, lineage, and security best practices (Unity Catalog, ACLs, tags, etc.).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for Databricks jobs and notebooks using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance and cost anomalies.
• Develop and maintain data ingestion workflows from various sources (Event Hubs, Kafka, APIs, SQL, Blob Storage, etc.).
• Manage and optimize Databricks clusters for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency (autoscaling, Photon, job scheduling).
• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines (ETL/ELT) on Azure Databricks using PySpark, Spark SQL, and Delta Lake.

Job Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer working with large-scale data pipelines.
• Strong hands-on skills in Spark and experience with Spark optimization technique
• Practical experience with Azure Databricks.
• Experience with Git-based workflows and job orchestration (Databricks Workflows, Airflow, or ADF).
• Experience with Unity Catalog, Delta Sharing, Lakehouse Federation.
• Knowledge about Feature Store, Auto ML
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps CI/CD or Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

Nice to have

• Bachelor/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
• Achievements in Kaggle, hackathons, or published projects.
• Hands-on experience in personalization, forecasting, supply chain, churn prediction, or pricing optimization.
