Data Governance Engineer at BairesDev

As a Data Governance Engineer, you will build and manage the infrastructure necessary to ensure data compliance and discoverability across the organization. You will align technical data management with business compliance requirements, providing a robust and unified view of all data assets.

What You'll Do

  • Design and implement enterprise-wide data catalogs using tools like Apache Atlas, Collibra, or Alation
  • Develop and maintain automated data lineage processes to track data flow and transformations
  • Establish and manage granular data access controls and classification standards to ensure data security
  • Collaborate with data teams to define metadata standards and improve asset discoverability
  • Implement and optimize governance workflows to streamline compliance and data stewardship
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by monitoring catalog health and metadata consistency

What We Are Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Governance, or Data Management.
  • Proven expertise in building and managing data governance infrastructure, including data catalogs and lineage.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Apache Atlas, Collibra, or Alation.
  • Strong understanding of data classification, access controls, and compliance standards.
  • Experience ensuring data discoverability and reliability across enterprise data ecosystems.
  • Advanced proficiency in English.
