Do you build data pipelines that actually make it to production ?

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer for a long-term engagement with an industrial manufacturing client building out their data and ML platform. The work is hands-on and outcomes-driven: own the pipeline layer, cut false positives in failure detection, and make ML models reusable across production sites.

If you've ever connected sensor data from a factory floor to a Databricks ML workflow, this one was built for you.

🔧 What you'll build:

• End-to-end streaming & batch pipelines — ingestion, integration, data quality, transformations, and auditing
• Feature engineering and data exploration to support ML model development and PoC evaluation
• Gold data layers and KPIs that business and operations teams can actually use
• CI/CD, IaC, Git workflows, testing and documentation — engineering practices that last
• Bridges between sensor data from different sites — standardising formats and aligning stakeholder requirements

✅ What we're looking for:

• Senior-level Data Engineering experience — streaming and batch in production, not just on paper
• Strong hands-on Azure and Databricks, this is the core stack, not a background skill
• MLflow for experiment tracking and model lifecycle manage
• mentSolid engineering mindset: you care about testing, documentation, and maintainability
• English C1 — you'll work directly with business and operations stakeholders
• Based in Romania, Serbia or Hungary

📍 The setup:

• Remote-first: Romania or Serbia preferred
• Onsite in Budapest: workshops at kickoff, then ~1–2 visits/month
• Occasional international travel possible
• Long-term engagement, starting ASAP
