Indexed description

We're looking for our first dedicated Software Engineer (Data Infrastructure) to design and build the data platform that will power the next stage of our company's growth. This is a foundational engineering role where you'll define the architecture, establish best practices, and create the systems that support product development, business intelligence, and future machine learning initiatives.

Working closely with engineering leadership and company founders, you'll have significant influence over the technical direction of our data stack from day one.

What You'll Be Working On

  • Design and develop reliable data pipelines capable of processing large volumes of product and event data.
  • Build and evolve a modern data platform that supports analytics, reporting, experimentation, and future ML use cases.
  • Create efficient data models and optimize warehouse performance to enable fast, reliable access to business-critical data.
  • Establish monitoring, validation, and alerting systems to ensure data quality and pipeline reliability.
  • Enable self-service analytics by creating trustworthy datasets that empower teams across the organization.
  • Improve observability through instrumentation, logging, performance analysis, and operational metrics.

What We're Looking For

  • Approximately 4-7 years of experience building production-grade data infrastructure.
  • Experience designing or rebuilding data platforms in environments with rapidly growing data volumes.
  • Strong SQL skills with a focus on query optimization and warehouse performance.
  • Solid understanding of data pipeline design, orchestration, and operational reliability.
  • Ability to balance real-time and batch processing requirements based on product needs.
  • Comfortable making technical decisions independently and taking ownership of large engineering initiatives.
  • Strong collaboration skills with both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with high-scale event or telemetry data.
  • Exposure to machine learning data pipelines or feature engineering workflows.
  • Background building data infrastructure at an early-stage startup.
  • Familiarity with monetization, advertising, or user engagement analytics.
  • Experience with modern data tooling such as Airflow, Dagster, dbt, or comparable orchestration frameworks.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and performance-based incentives.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Daily meals provided at the office.
  • The opportunity to build a company's core data foundation from the ground up and have a lasting impact on both the product and engineering organization.
