This role sits within the Data and Technology team and works closely with our AMS360 Admin team, which brings deep domain expertise. You will be the engineering counterpart to that team, responsible for building and running ETL processes that move data accurately and at scale. The immediate focus is agency migration work driven by ongoing M&A activity, with longer-term opportunities to expand into bulk data operations, CRM and marketing integrations, and other data products across the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and execute ETL pipelines that extract data from acquired agency source systems (AMS360, EPIC, TAM, Applied, HawkSoft, and others), transform it to meet Trucordia standards, and load it into our centralized AMS360 instance.
- Work with Vertafore AMS360 API products including oData, WSAPI 3.0, and EMS to programmatically create and update customer records, policy shells, attachments, suspenses, and related data.
- Build transformation logic for carrier mapping, employee/producer mapping, cancel reason standardization, line of business alignment, and client deduplication.
- Extract, profile, and validate source system data, including database backups and exports from systems Trucordia has not previously encountered.
- Develop validation and QA processes to verify converted data meets quality requirements before, during, and after migration.
- Produce ID transformation and mapping tables that link source system records to new AMS360 identifiers, supporting operational traceability and data warehouse ingestion.
- Collaborate with the AMS360 Admin team on mapping decisions, preview validation, and issue resolution throughout each conversion project.
- 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT, or integration engineering, building pipelines that move and transform data across disparate systems.
- Strong SQL skills, including profiling unfamiliar schemas, writing complex joins, and performing data quality analysis; experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake.
- Hands-on experience integrating with RESTful and SOAP/XML APIs (including oData), and performing data loads via APIs and direct database operations.
- Proficiency in a modern language for data transformation and automation (Python, Node.js/TypeScript, or similar), with an emphasis on maintainable, well-tested code.
- Experience deploying and operating solutions in the cloud (Azure preferred), with familiarity using Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows.
- Comfortable owning data migration or integration projects end-to-end, balancing data quality, business constraints, and delivery timelines.
- Strong communicator who collaborates effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders; detail-oriented with a habit of documenting solutions.
- Proven, ongoing use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar) as part of daily development workflows
- Demonstrated ability to use AI to accelerate coding, debugging, refactoring, and learning new technologies or codebases
- Ability to critically review AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and long-term maintainability
- Hands-on, habitual experience using AI in professional work, side projects, or personal experimentation; this role assumes AI is a core productivity multiplier
