We are seeking a versatile and technically strong Data Analyst to partner directly with a trading and analytics team, serving as their dedicated data and analytics resource.


This individual will work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, build and maintain data infrastructure, and deploy analytical models and strategies within a centralized analytics platform utilizing Microsoft Fabric. The role also serves as a key liaison between business users and a centralized Data Science team, ensuring alignment on priorities, methodologies, and platform standards. There is an opportunity for the successful candidate to contribute to model development and advanced analytics initiatives over time


Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Requirements Gathering

  • Serve as the primary analytics and data delivery partner for traders, analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Coordinate with centralized Data Science teams on project priorities, model deployment, and platform governance.
  • Maintain close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure solutions continue to meet evolving business needs.
  • Bridge the gap between business insight and technical execution.


Microsoft Fabric Development & Administration

  • Design, develop, and maintain data solutions within Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouses, Warehouses, OneLake, Dataflows Gen2, Semantic Models, and Notebooks.
  • Productionize analytical models and workflows developed by business users and data science teams.
  • Develop and manage data pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver reliable datasets.
  • Create semantic models, dashboards, and reporting solutions that enable self-service analytics.
  • Ensure deployed solutions are scalable, reliable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.


Data Engineering & Analytics

  • Integrate and manage real-time and batch data feeds within a governed analytics environment.
  • Support advanced analytics, forecasting, and reporting initiatives.
  • Collaborate on the deployment and enhancement of quantitative and analytical models.


Governance & Documentation

  • Ensure documentation, transparency, auditability, and knowledge transfer for all deployed solutions.
  • Contribute to centralized repositories of reusable models, pipelines, and analytical assets.
  • Promote consistency in data management practices, methodologies, and tools.
  • Support data governance and quality initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3–5+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Business Intelligence, or similar technical role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouses, Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, Semantic Models, and Notebooks.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Experience with Kusto Query Language (KQL) and Azure Data Explorer.
  • Demonstrated success gathering business requirements and delivering production-ready data solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting financial services, trading, commodities, energy, or other data-intensive business environments.

Preferred

  • Experience within energy, commodities, or capital markets environments.
  • Familiarity with quantitative analytics, forecasting models, and signal development.
  • Experience developing shared analytics frameworks, libraries, or knowledge management platforms.
  • Exposure to CI/CD processes, source control, and Git.Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or related cloud certifications.
