About the Role

Our client, a leading IT consultancy with a growing Data & AI Practice, is seeking an experienced Data Architect to join their expanding team based in Dublin City Centre. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled data professional who enjoys working closely with clients, solving complex business challenges, and delivering modern data solutions across enterprise environments.

As a client-facing, delivery-focused Data Architect, you will play a key role in designing and implementing end-to-end data architectures that enable advanced analytics, AI, reporting, and business intelligence capabilities. You will collaborate with stakeholders, architects, engineers, and business teams to build scalable, secure, and future-ready data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide data architectures supporting analytics, reporting, AI, and machine learning initiatives.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models, including relational and dimensional modelling (facts, dimensions, and slowly changing dimensions).
• Design and govern ETL/ELT frameworks, supporting batch, real-time, and event-driven data integration patterns.
• Lead data migration initiatives, including source-to-target mapping, data profiling, quality assessments, and transformation design.
• Define architecture standards for data security, metadata management, data lineage, and governance.
• Produce architecture artefacts including High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), and technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to delivery teams throughout project lifecycles.
• Work closely with clients and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
• Support Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies and contribute to solution design workshops, proposals, and pre-sales activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years' experience as a Data Architect within complex enterprise or consulting environments.
• Strong client-facing experience with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Expertise in data warehousing, lakehouse architectures, and modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or Snowflake.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with integration technologies including Azure Data Factory (ADF), SSIS, Kafka, Talend, or similar tools.
• Experience designing solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on-premise environments.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security, metadata management, and data lineage.
• Experience supporting reporting and analytics solutions, including Power BI.
• Knowledge of AI-ready data platforms and modern data engineering practices.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Excellent communication, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
