As a Lead Data Engineer within our Data & Analytics team, you’ll play a critical role in shaping how data is built, governed and leveraged across the business.
You’ll drive key technical initiatives, enable faster and smarter decision-making, and translate data into meaningful business outcomes.
You’ll lead across the full data lifecycle, from ingestion and modelling through to data marts and integrations while setting the standard for engineering excellence, governance, and best practice. Partnering closely with stakeholders across the bank, you’ll ensure data solutions are scalable, trusted and impactful.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build and optimise scalable data ingestion pipelines across a variety of source systems
- Lead data modelling efforts (3NF, Kimball, star schema), contributing as a hands-on individual contributor
- Drive end-to-end delivery of technical initiatives and act as a key point of contact for a team of engineers
- Define and embed engineering standards, patterns and reusable frameworks to support domain-led design
- Collaborate closely with business, analytics and technology stakeholders to deliver high-value, data-driven outcomes
- Deep expertise in data modelling across 3NF and dimensional approaches (Kimball/star schema), with strong judgement on selecting the right approach
- Proven experience leading initiatives and guiding engineers to deliver meaningful business impact
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Hands-on experience with modern data tooling including DBT, Spark/PySpark
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Experience with Databricks (highly regarded)
- Exposure to cloud-native data ecosystems (e.g. AWS), orchestration tools (Airflow), ingestion tools (Fivetran), and relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar)
