Boeing Defence UK (BDUK) is looking for a Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Engineer to support new business opportunities and existing product platforms, mainly fixed and vertical lift Boeing platforms.

BDUK is a subsidiary of the Boeing Company and currently employs over 2000 people in the UK. We are responsible for delivering several exciting contracts to our UK defence customers including new capabilities like the E-7 AEW&C and the P-8A Maritime Patrol Aircraft, Autonomous Systems, C4ISR Services, Support for the Chinook & Apache Fleets, Logistic Information Services and Training Services and are very much in a growth phase.
BDUK engineering function operates a matrix organisation consisting of engineering departments that deliver technical skills, expertise and products into our programmes. This role will be in the Product Support Engineering Department.
The Department consists of the following technical areas:
- Reliability Centred Maintenance Analysis
- Reliability and Maintainability
- Logistic Support Analysis
- Engineering Data Exploitation
- Obsolescence Management
- Technical Publications
- Integrated Logistic Support Engineering
In your role, you shall:
- Work in a team and carry out the execution of contracted R&M work.
- Provide analytical capability to transform information and data; providing insight to support R&M decision making.
- Collaborating with other Engineering disciplines and the other Senior Stakeholders, to ensure consistency of working methods and activities across all projects
- Support and review Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Trees Analysis (FTA), failure analysis, and corrective action (FRACAS).
- Coordinate, monitor, establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and report status of R&M activities.
- Perform statistical analysis on fault data to identify reliability thresholds and trending.
- Work with modelling teams and supply chain to connect the R&M data into provisioning and forecasting of aircraft spares.
- Present R&M findings within UK defence customer forums and working groups.
Basic Qualifications (Skills/Experience):
- Eligibility for UK SC Security Clearance: Applicants must be able to obtain the necessary clearance.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- High level of skill in reliability availability modelling calculations including industry toolsets and methodologies.
- Understanding of the relationships between R&M and Design, Dependability, Safety, Integrated Product Support & Asset Management
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular MS Word, and Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.
- A clear communicator with a can-do attitude who has the drive, commitment and passion to continuously improve the quality of service
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills.
- Knowledge and application experience of risk & reliability management systems and techniques
- Ideally, have a Defence background but this is not essential
