The Rubrik Commercial Legal team spearheads all the global commercial contracts that keep Rubrik’s revenue engine humming. We’re a hard-working team who prioritizes our business and our customers, both internal and external. If you have a passion for cutting-edge technology, high-impact negotiations, collaborating with cross functional teams, and have a positive attitude, we’d love to meet you!
The Role
- Lead, negotiate and close SaaS, AI and related agreements - including security, privacy, support and professional services - using your experience and judgment to bring terms within Rubrik’s accepted risk parameters and to align with our offerings
- Team up cross-functionally with sales, product, engineering, revenue, support, professional services, and other departments to achieve business objectives
- Find creative solutions to bring complex deals over the finish line while meeting timeframes and maintaining a positive customer experience
- Bring positivity and professionalism to each interaction and negotiation, especially in time-bound, high stakes scenarios
- Stay fluent in the legal and regulatory landscape, especially in industry verticals (e.g. public sector, financial services, healthcare)
- Navigate ever-evolving AI terms and conditions — including acceptable use policies, data training restrictions, model output liability, ownership, and AI governance - and AI regulatory developments, from the EU AI Act to emerging U.S. frameworks
- Excel when supporting a quota-driven sales ecosystem, utilizing your skills in accurate prioritization and proactive communication to manage high-volume and competing demands
- Build genuine, collaborative relationships across the company with a focus on Sales
- Geek out on Rubrik’s products to be confident, creative and flexible in negotiations
- Enable the Sales team through formal and informal trainings to maximize speed, collaboration and a seamless customer experience
Requirements:
- 5+ years of commercial contract experience in-house at a technology company or at a firm specializing in technology agreements.
- Ideally 3+ years minimum negotiating cloud-based service agreements with enterprise or highly regulated customers
- A solid command of data privacy and security — you know your GDPR from your CCPA
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning terms and conditions — data provenance, IP ownership of AI outputs, indemnification for AI-generated content, and responsible AI use terms
- Ability to thrive under pressure alongside a quota and deadline-driven sales team
- Bias for action, self-starter, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, combined with a customer-first mindset and solid legal and business judgment
- Sense of humor, professionalism, low-ego, positive disposition and collaborative mindset required.
- Credentials: Active license to practice law, and/or J.D. degree or equivalent depth of experience with complex technology transactions
