Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain interactive reports and dashboards in Power BI
- Perform ETL using Power Query (M) and Dataflows Gen2, and create measures using DAX
- Connect and transform data from multiple sources (SQL Server, SharePoint, Excel, Microsoft Fabric, etc.)
- Design dimensional (star schema) data models for scalable and performant reporting
- Diagnose and optimise refresh performance, including model size, cardinality, and VertiPaq compression
- Manage deployment pipelines and version control (Git) for Power BI Service
- Optimize performance of reports and manage data refresh schedules
- Collaborate with users to identify KPIs and reporting needs
- Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and Object-Level Security (OLS), and follow governance standards
- Document data models and semantic models, and support end-user training
- 4–7 years of Power BI development experience
- Strong skills in DAX, Power Query (M), and dimensional data modelling
- Proficient in SQL and working with relational databases
- Experience with Power BI Service, gateways, deployment pipelines, and workspace management
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Microsoft Certification in Power BI (PL-300 or equivalent)
- Microsoft Certification in Fabric Analytics Engineer (DP-600) or Fabric Data Engineer (DP-700)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or other cloud data platforms
