What we’re looking for

• A strong knowledge of Cloud based Data Platform (GCP preferred) via their APIs or CLIs
• You appreciate team work and you are familiar with AGILE development method
• Strong skills in SQL (i.e. BigQuery/Oracle)
• A good understanding of data lakes, database design, data warehouses and data modeling (star/snowflake schema)
• Strong knowledge on design and implementation data processing pipelines with ETL/ELT tools
• Experience programming in one or more general purpose programming languages, with a preference for Python or Scala
• Software engineering experience and knowledge in application development and maintenance is a plus
• Experience of CI/CD related toolsets (Gitlab is preferred)
• Hands-on experience of developing and maintaining Batch/Streaming Data Pipelines
• A good knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools is a plus (Terraform, Ansible, Helm, APIs)
• Exposure on Serverless solutions (Cloud functions, Amazon lambda) and PaaS solutions related to Big Data (Big Query, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse)
• Autonomous in your work and able to make proposals
• Eager to learn and able to share your knowledge
• A good communication (both verbal and written) and stakeholder management skills, gained through collaboration with technical peers, non-technical project team members and user communities.

What you`ll be doing

• Start each day/once at 2 days with an Agile stand-up, aligning on sprint goals and collaborating closely with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders.
• Use GCP (primarily) through APIs and CLI to provision and manage data platform components, codified with Terraform/Helm/Ansible and versioned in GitLab.
• Design and evolve data models for lakes and warehouses, shaping schemas that map to business domains.
• Write performant SQL (BigQuery mainly) for ELT/ETL, including partitioning, clustering, and query optimization.
• Build and maintain batch and streaming pipelines, using Python to implement robust, testable transformations.
• Leverage serverless and PaaS where it fits—Cloud Functions, BigQuery—for scalable, cost‑effective workloads.
• Automate quality gates and deployments via GitLab CI/CD, with unit/integration tests, code reviews, and reproducible releases.
• Monitor pipelines, troubleshoot incidents, and tune jobs for reliability, throughput, and cost efficiency.
• Translate stakeholder needs into data contracts, and clear acceptance criteria; demo progress and gather feedback iteratively.
• Document patterns and runbooks; create reusable templates and modules to accelerate future delivery.
• Work autonomously, proposing improvements to architecture, tooling, and practices while sharing knowledge through reviews, talks, and pair sessions.
• Contribute to adjacent application development or maintenance when needed, applying software engineering practices throughout.

• Synthesis mind and ability to explain things to the stakeholders
