Data Engineer

THE OPPORTUNITY

At Kjell & Company, we are looking for a Data Engineer who wants to do more than just build pipelines — someone who wants to shape how data drives the business forward.

Our data landscape is evolving — and this is where you come in. As a Data Engineer with us, you will play a key role in transforming our hybrid environment into a modern, scalable, cloud-first platform built on Microsoft Fabric. You’ll work hands-on with both legacy and modern technologies, ensuring reliable, high-quality data across the business.

This is a role for someone who combines strong technical skills with curiosity and drive — and who wants real impact on how we build, structure, and scale our data platform going forward.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines across legacy and modern platforms
  • Build and evolve solutions in Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Notebooks)
  • Build and support scalable data models and semantic layers for reporting (e.g. Power BI, DAX)
  • Drive the transition to a scalable medallion architecture
  • Integrate data from multiple sources (SQL, APIs, SFTP, Delta Share)
  • Contribute to CI/CD, DevOps practices, and leverage modern tools (including AI) to improve ways of working

WE BELIEVE YOU ARE

You are a highly motivated Data Engineer who takes pride in building scalable, reliable solutions that create real business impact. You combine a structured and detail-oriented mindset with a proactive approach, and you enjoy taking ownership from idea to implementation. You thrive in a collaborative environment, challenge existing ways of working, and contribute to raising the bar for how data engineering is done.

  • 3+ years of experience working as a Data Engineer in a hybrid environment, ideally within the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Strong programming and querying skills in Python/PySpark and SQL
  • Proven experience building and optimizing modern data pipelines and workflows
  • Experience working with version control, CI/CD, and DevOps-oriented practices
  • Experience working with data modeling and enabling semantic layers for reporting (e.g. Power BI)
  • Fluent in both Swedish and English

Why Kjell & Company

Be part of a company where data drives real business impact. At Kjell & Company, you’ll work hands-on in a cloud-first transformation, combining modern and legacy platforms while influencing how we build and scale our data capabilities — in a collaborative environment where ownership matters.
