We're all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Data Specialist - Reporting, you'll design and deliver fit-for-purpose data products that support regulatory, operational and strategic decision-making.

You'll work across a varied portfolio of reporting requests, from once-off data extracts through to enterprise-level dashboards and corporate reports. Using tools like Power BI, SQL and Databricks, you'll apply best practice reporting methodologies to ensure outputs are accurate, user-friendly and aligned to governance and architectural standards.

You'll also play a key role in engaging stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and managing your work through Agile frameworks. With a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement, you'll help uplift reporting capability and contribute to better data outcomes across the organisation.

This role is a permanent opportunity and is based in Brisbane.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver high-quality data products including dashboards, reports and extracts.
  • Develop efficient, accurate and user-friendly reporting solutions using Power BI, SQL and Databricks.
  • Investigate and resolve data quality issues to ensure reliable outputs.
  • Apply best practice design principles aligned to data governance and architecture standards.
  • Manage your workload using Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, manage expectations and deliver outcomes.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear insights for non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure all deliverables are tested for accuracy, performance and usability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting practices, tools and processes.
  • Share knowledge to uplift capability across the team.

Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • You bring commercial experience delivering reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI and SQL.
  • Your experience includes working with tools such as Databricks, SQL Server and Excel.
  • You'll have strong programming capability in SQL, M and DAX for data modelling and reporting.
  • You're confident applying data modelling concepts in real-world environments.
  • You demonstrate the ability to analyse complex problems and clearly document solutions.
  • You have experience working in Agile environments using tools like JIRA.
  • You'll ideally have exposure to superannuation or large, complex organisations.
  • Your familiarity with tools like Tabular Editor and DAX Studio is advantageous.
  • Subject matter experience with Insurance in Superannuation is strongly advantageous.
  • You're curious about emerging areas such as AI, data science or advanced analytics.
