About Revelocity Sports
Revelocity Sports is an innovative startup revolutionizing how minor league sports teams approach sales and marketing. We provide data-driven, personalized marketing solutions through our proprietary platform that helps teams understand their fans better, deploy omni-channel marketing campaigns, and ultimately fill more seats. We’re an AI-forward company through and through — automation and intelligent systems aren’t a side project here, they’re the engine behind our platform, our product roadmap, and how we punch above our weight every day. We’re a small team, which means the engineer we hire will see their work go straight into use, not into a backlog.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for an AI Developer to own day-to-day development at Revelocity — building the AI automations, data pipelines, and product features that power our platform and open up new product lines and revenue opportunities. You’ll come from an engineering background and be excited about using AI in development workflows and building integrations, automations, and applying AI to real product problems. To be clear: this isn’t a research role — we’re not training models, we’re building with them and building them into products.
This role is mostly AI engineering, built on a foundation of data engineering. The two halves feed each other — the data makes the AI possible and useful, and the AI makes the data go further, faster. We’ll shape the day-to-day around your strengths, but expect the center of gravity to sit with AI and automation.
This isn’t a role where you’ll be stuck doing one thing. You’ll work directly with our founders, touch everything from automation and data engineering to product strategy and see the impact of what you build show up in our clients’ stadiums.
This is a full-time, in-person role in Cincinnati — you’re local or willing to relocate. That doesn’t mean you can never work remotely, but we’re looking for someone who can spend most of their time in the office with us. We’re hiring for the long term — we want someone who joins to grow with the company, with a clear path toward greater technical ownership and leadership over time.
What You'll Do
- AI and Automation-Focused Product Development: Take slow, manual, expensive tasks and turn them into things that run for a few dollars and a few minutes — designing, building, and shipping AI-powered automations that work nights and weekends, scale our business beyond our headcount, and open up new product lines and revenue opportunities across our RevTM platform and client work — wiring together SaaS tools, internal scripts, and LLM agents
- Product Development: Own day-to-day development throughput across the whole lifecycle — hear what we’re trying to accomplish, figure out what’s worth building, translate intent into working product, prototype quickly, ship, measure it honestly, and keep it running
- Data Engineering: Build and maintain the data pipelines and integrations that power our platform, client campaigns, and reporting — keep the data flowing reliably, extend it to new teams and new data sources; this is the foundation everything else stands on
- Platform Stewardship: Learn our existing systems and infrastructure deeply enough to monitor, maintain, and extend them — so critical knowledge never lives with just one person
- Data Security & Privacy: Treat security and privacy as a backstop rolled into everything we build — protecting client and fan data and guarding against the common disasters before they happen
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Document what you build and contribute to our internal knowledge base so the whole team can understand, use, and trust our systems
- Deliver Against Outcomes: Work against concrete timelines and tangible deliverables — we measure success by results, not activity
- Enable Our Team with AI: Our team uses AI all day, every day. You’ll help everyone use it as efficiently as possible — introducing new agents, models, harnesses, and skills— guided by your sense of where this technology is good, where it falls over, and how to tell the difference.
What You’ll Build & Tech You’ll Use
Here are illustrative examples of the kinds of products you'll build and the tools you'll work with — not an exhaustive list, but the spirit of how we approach development problems:
Example projects:
- AI-powered internal tools that manage marketing and creative workflows — from campaign drafting to creative production
- Client and project management systems that keep our team and clients aligned without manual overhead
- Lead-generation pipelines — like our system that finds contact information for thousands of local businesses that off-the-shelf tools miss: web scraping feeding carefully designed LLM prompts, with an evaluation harness that scores output against human-verified ground truth so we know it’s actually working
- Assistants that make our data answerable — letting the team get answers from our warehouse of customers, purchases, and campaigns without writing SQL by hand
Here’s a snapshot of our broader stack and tools today — it will evolve as we grow, and you’ll help shape it:
- Python for nearly everything
- Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery
- Claude Code, Claude Design, and Cowork — plus other good-fit LLMs
- Cursor
- Image generation models
- Hex.tech
- Notion, Meta, Zapier, and GitHub
What We’re Looking For
What we genuinely require — this is a short list on purpose. If these three are true, we want to hear from you:
- You’re in Cincinnati, or ready to be — local or willing to relocate, and able to spend most of your time in the office with us• You can really write code — real, working programs, ideally in Python, though a strong foundation in another language counts; you can read code you didn’t write, debug it, ship something that works, and you understand coding best practices and common patterns
- You’re comfortable with data — querying it with SQL, moving it around programmatically, testing and analyzing it, and caring deeply about whether the numbers are right
- You have a bias towards quick prototyping and iteration — we’re often balancing speed and quality. Our goal is to build as quickly as possible while maintaining quality, proving substance before scale
Everything below is a head start, not a barrier — we don’t expect any single person to have all of these, and the rest you’ll pick up here:
- You’ve built something with an LLM — even a side project, a script that calls an AI API, or a workflow you automated — and you’re curious about where this technology is good, where it falls over, and how to tell the difference
- You’ve built or maintained a data pipeline, an ETL/ELT process, web scraping, or API integrations — wrangling messy real-world data into clean, usable form
- Product-oriented — you can hear what we’re trying to accomplish, translate it into product, and figure it out with minimal hand-holding
- A tech generalist at heart — comfortable picking up new tools and languages, not locked into a single stack
- Hungry — you want to grow, take on more responsibility, and build toward technical leadership
- You’ve worked with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure), Docker, or scheduled jobs — or you’re comfortable learning your way around them
- You write things down — when you make a decision or find something surprising, you leave a trail so the next person understands it
- You have an interest in sports, marketing, analytics, or how data drives business decisions
Our Core Values
- Keep Innovating: We’re restless in the best way — constantly asking “how can this be better?” We leverage technology and AI to punch above our weight, experiment with new approaches, and find smarter, more efficient ways to solve every challenge.
- Stay Curious: We ask “why?” and “what if?” about everything — our company, our clients, our technology, our industry. We dig deeper to understand the real problem we’re really solving. Curiosity drives us to spot opportunities others miss and proactively find new places where we can make an impact.
- Get Stuff Done: Talk is cheap. We deliver results. We’re biased toward action, focus on what drives real impact. We ship, we measure, we learn, and we keep pushing to achieve more.
- Be Relentlessly Helpful: We show up for our teammates, our clients, and our communities with 110% effort — not because we have to, but because that’s how great work happens. We’re tuned into what others need, actively collaborative, and always willing to jump in.
A Note on Fit
Studies — and our own experience — show that people talk themselves out of applying when they don’t match every line of a job post. Please don’t. If you can write code, you’re comfortable with data, and you’re excited about building AI tools that do real work, we’d genuinely like to talk — even if half the “head start” list is unfamiliar. We’re hiring for trajectory and judgment as much as for what you already know, and we’re set up to help you grow into the rest.
