We are looking for an Analytics Engineer who is eager to be an integral part of this digital transformation journey. You will design data models that drive portfolio-level insight, partner with business teams to turn raw data into trusted data products, and build the foundation behind emerging AI and automation tools. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented professional with a strong mix of technical depth, communication skills, and business acumen, with the ability to understand business concepts and translate them into valuable technical solutions.

The salary range for this role is $120,000 per year to 155,000 per year plus bonus.

Please note that this in an onsite role and candidates must reside in the Boston Mass area.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize data transformation pipelines and ELT workflows using dbt and SQL, turning raw ingested data into clean, reliable, business-ready datasets.
  • Design and maintain dimensional data models that serve as the foundation for BI reporting, advanced analytics, and AI-driven data products.
  • Partner closely with data analysts and business stakeholders across leasing, finance, and operations to understand business concepts and needs and translate into technical designs and solutions.
  • Build and enforce data quality checks, validation rules, and testing frameworks to ensure data accuracy.
  • Partner with AI Engineers to design the data foundations powering our AI initiatives, including the data layers behind RAG, document Q&A, and agentic systems.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data ingestion pipelines from diverse source systems (APIs, databases, flat files, SaaS platforms, unstructured data).
  • Manage data platforms and infrastructure, contributing to environment configuration, pipeline orchestration and monitoring, performance tuning, cost management, and operational reliability.
  • Support data governance and security practices, including role-based access control and metadata management.
  • Contribute to engineering best practices for the team, including version control (Git), CI/CD, and automated testing to help establish standards as the team grows.
  • Identify and implement process improvements such as automating manual data workflows and reducing time-to-insight for business partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or closely related role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt is required. Familiarity with orchestration tools like Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or Airflow is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling; proficiency in Python for data pipeline development and automation.
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools such as coding assistants and LLMs to accelerate development, automate repetitive tasks, and build more effective solutions.
  • Experience designing and building data pipelines, transformation workflows, and dimensional models using modern data stack tools.
  • Understanding of Lakehouse architecture, data warehousing concepts, and dimensional modeling patterns.
  • Working knowledge of data governance fundamentals, including data quality, metadata, and lineage.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with BI tools, particularly Power BI, including an understanding of how data models serve downstream reporting.
  • Familiarity with generative AI concepts, LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic), or emerging AI frameworks and tooling.
