Who We Are Looking For
Nike is looking for a Senior Manager, HR Data Foundations Engineering to lead the team responsible for the data infrastructure that powers workforce insights across the enterprise. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in data engineering and HR systems, a collaborative mindset, and a track record of leading high-performing teams through complex platform work.
The candidate demonstrates leadership through influence, communicates clearly across technical and non-technical audiences, and brings the kind of data modeling instincts and governance discipline that makes downstream analytics possible at scale.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience or training
- 8+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a closely related field
- 2+ years of people management experience, with demonstrated ability to develop and retain technical talent across diverse skill sets
- Deep expertise in Workday HCM, including data structures, security model, and reporting objects; Workday Prism Analytics experience strongly preferred
- Deep expertise in cloud data platforms; Snowflake and/or Databricks required
- Strong SQL; Python experience a plus
- Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise HR systems of record a plus
- Proven track record leading large-scale data migrations with minimal disruption to downstream consumers
- Strong data modeling instincts with the ability to make and defend architectural decisions
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical tradeoffs into business terms for HR and People Analytics stakeholders
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow or equivalent)
- Familiarity with AI/ML tooling and how to apply it in a data engineering context
- Lead and develop a team of analytics engineers responsible for building and maintaining Nike's HR data warehouse, Workday Prism Analytics environment, and associated data pipelines
- Own the architecture and roadmap for HR data infrastructure, including ingestion from Workday HCM and other HR systems of record
- Directly manage an engineer responsible for Workday Prism development, including dataset design, data change framework, and surfacing insights natively within the Workday environment
- Manage a web developer responsible for custom HR portals and self-service tools that connect employees and HR stakeholders directly to workforce data
- Drive data quality, governance, and documentation standards across HR data assets, both inside and outside Workday
- Partner with People Analytics, HR Technology, and enterprise data platform teams to align on data modeling patterns, tooling, and delivery priorities
- Lead platform migrations and modernization efforts from legacy systems to cloud-native solutions
- Implement and scale AI and automation tooling to improve engineering productivity and self-service analytics capabilities
- Define and maintain data models, data dictionaries, and operational runbooks that enable downstream consumers to work confidently with HR data
- Represent HR data engineering in cross-functional forums and influence technical direction across the HR data domain
