About the Role

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain cloud-based data pipelines that turn raw data into clean, reliable, analysis-ready datasets. You’ll work primarily within modern cloud and lakehouse ecosystems (Azure, Databricks, AWS) and write production-grade code in Python, PySpark, and SQL to support data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines to transform raw data into clean, reliable, analysis-ready datasets.
• Build and orchestrate data workflows to automate and schedule recurring data processes.
• Develop and optimize data pipelines within a lakehouse/medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers).
• Integrate and process data from multiple sources, including batch and streaming, into cloud storage and warehouses.
• Build and maintain end-to-end data solutions within cloud platform environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune data pipelines and jobs for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Implement data quality checks, governance, and access controls to ensure data integrity and compliance.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to understand data needs and deliver usable, well-modeled datasets.

Core Technology Scope

• Cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, AWS (GCP a plus)
• Data engineering: Databricks, Delta Lake, Apache Spark/PySpark
• Orchestration: Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory
• Languages: Python, SQL
• Storage & warehousing: S3, Synapse, Redshift, (any of these a plus)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, MIS, or a related field.
• New graduates welcome (0–3 years experience); 5+ years experience for senior-level candidates.
• Strong programming skills in Python and PySpark; solid SQL and query optimization experience.
• Practical experience building and orchestrating pipelines with Apache Airflow or similar.
• Working knowledge of at least one major cloud data platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP); Databricks experience strongly preferred.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT design principles, data modeling, and lakehouse/data warehouse concepts.
• Familiarity with data governance and quality practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Good English communication and writing skills are a plus.
