Data Engineer

Your primary purpose is to enable reliable, timely, and trusted analytical insights that empower the business to make informed decisions on strategy, investment, and operational action. You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to ensure data is accessible, well‑governed, and optimised to unlock maximum value from our data assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines, ensuring efficient data retrieval, storage, and distribution across the organisation
- Develop, optimise, and quality‑assure complex SQL queries and data transformations to support reporting and advanced analytics needs
- Define, document, and advocate data modelling, data quality, and data management standards to maintain data integrity and stakeholder trust
- Design, develop, and deploy reporting and analytics solutions that deliver actionable insights across key business performance metrics
- Collaborate with cross‑functional business and IT stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and meaningful information outputs
- Continuously identify and implement improvements to data processes, automation, and platform scalability to enhance performance and efficiency
- 5–10 years’ experience sourcing, building, analysing, and presenting organisational data to support critical business decisions
- Strong expertise in SQL, including writing efficient, reusable queries and reviewing and optimising others’ work
- Proven experience working with BI and analytics platforms, with strong hands‑on capability in Power BI
- Solid experience across the Microsoft data stack, including SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and Power BI
- Demonstrated experience in data modelling, data integration, Change Data Capture (CDC), and working with data from multiple source systems (e.g. CRMs such as Salesforce)
- Strong analytical mindset with experience applying statistical techniques to generate insights and clear, business‑focused recommendations
