What’s In It For You

Salary: €110,000–€120,000

Benefits: Bonus + additional benefits

Setup: Fully remote anywhere in Ireland

Impact: Help modernise enterprise data environments for large international organisations

Ownership: Hands-on ownership of data engineering delivery alongside a Principal Data Architect

Why This Role

You'll be joining a consultancy that embeds directly into client teams to solve complex technical problems rather than simply advising from the sidelines.

Your first engagement will be with a global business process outsourcing company with over 9,000 employees that's looking to streamline and modernise multiple databases across the business. It's one of several similar projects already in the pipeline, so there's plenty of interesting work ahead.

This is very much a hands-on engineering role. They don't need someone to design architecture from a distance, they need someone who enjoys building, solving problems, and getting data into the right shape.

What They Need Help With

You'll work closely with a Principal Data Architect, taking agreed designs and turning them into production-ready data pipelines.

That includes:

  • Building ingestion and transformation pipelines
  • Pulling data from databases, APIs, documents, emails, and other unstructured sources
  • Cleaning, validating, and reconciling data for downstream use
  • Building orchestration, monitoring, and error handling into pipelines
  • Presenting progress during regular client demos
  • Working directly with client stakeholders throughout the engagement

This is a small team, so you'll have plenty of ownership and be trusted to make sensible technical decisions along the way.

What They're Looking For

  • Around five years' experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering with a strong data focus
  • Strong Python and SQL skills
  • Experience building modern cloud-based data pipelines
  • Good experience with Snowflake, AWS and S3
  • Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, dbt, or similar
  • Comfortable working with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources
  • Good understanding of data quality, validation, and observability
  • Comfortable working alongside a senior architect while owning implementation
  • Confident in presenting technical work to clients

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience with Cloudera or hybrid data platforms
  • Experience building custom connectors for third-party systems

The Culture

Small team, lots of ownership, and very little hierarchy.

You'll be working directly alongside experienced architects and client stakeholders, so it's a good fit for someone who enjoys solving real problems and wants to keep developing technically.
