Data Software Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Data Software Engineer to support our client's initiative to upgrade their BI infrastructure by adopting the Lakehouse paradigm. In this hybrid role, you will play a key part in migrating the existing BI estate to a modern Lakehouse architecture built on Databricks technology hosted on MS Azure, enabling real-time data ingestion through Spark Streaming and reading Kafka feeds.

Please note that working from the customer's office is required 1 day per week.

Responsibilities

• Migrate the existing SSRS reports to Power BI, ensure functional and data consistency
• Design, build and maintain data pipelines supporting Power BI reporting and analytics
• Support testing, validation and optimization of migrated data and reporting solutions
• Design and implement real-time data ingestion pipelines using Apache Spark Streaming on Azure Databricks

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data software engineering
• Proficiency in Apache Kafka and Azure Databricks
• Skills in Apache Spark Streaming and real-time data ingestion pipelines
• Expertise in designing, building and maintaining data pipelines
• Familiarity with Power BI and SSRS report migration
• Understanding of the Lakehouse architecture paradigm and MS Azure
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher
