What We’re Looking For
Based remotely in the Philippines or in our Manila office, the Senior Data Engineer will have ownership of various data engineering components at Venatus. This role is pivotal to the success of our tech platform, where you will design, build, and optimise ETL and streaming data pipelines, integrating data from diverse sources to drive analytics, automation, and intelligent decision-making. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of our business intelligence and AI capabilities, ensuring that Venatus remains at the forefront of adtech innovation. You will report directly to the Principal Engineer and be an integral part of our backend development team.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and maintenance of scalable, efficient data pipelines and frameworks for reporting and analytics
- Enhance pipelines to generate derived business metrics for real-time monitoring, alerting, and actionable insights.
- Design and Develop complex data workflows to support feature extraction, AI/ML model creation, and real-time inference.
- Seamlessly integrate data from internal and external systems, ensuring compatibility and accuracy.
- Develop and implement strategies to maintain the highest levels of data quality and consistency.
- Build proactive monitoring systems to ensure data reliability and identify potential issues.
- Design efficient data storage and retrieval strategies to minimize overhead and maximize performance.
- 5+ years of experience in a Data or ML Engineer role.
- Expertise in data warehousing, orchestration, and architecture.
- Advanced SQL skills with experience in relational databases.
- Experience with DBT
- Strong programming skills in Python (or equivalent languages).
- Understanding of data orchestration and the infrastructure required to develop and scale ML models
- Familiarity with digital advertising technologies.
- Hands-on experience developing in Kubernetes environments.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
