Tasks

The Role

We are looking to hire a Data Engineer to join our team. You will work on designing, building, and operating the data systems that power both research and live trading. The scope and ownership of the role will be tailored to your experience and strengths.


You will collaborate closely with engineers, infrastructure specialists, and researchers to explore, understand, and operate large-scale datasets and data systems in a production trading environment. Your work will directly impact research velocity and trading performance.


Responsibilities include, among other things.



  • Exploring and analyzing datasets (understanding structure, quality, and implicit assumptions)

  • Transforming raw data into consistent, reliable formats (clear semantics and reproducible transformations)

  • Working with researchers to define data requirements (translating them into well-structured, meaningful datasets)

  • Designing and maintaining scalable ETL pipelines (explicit DAG-based workflows with welldefined dependen cies and reproducible execution)

  • Managing and optimizing data storage systems (analytical and transactional databases)

  • Monitoring and improving data systems and pipelines in production (observability, reliability, and performance)


Requirements

Who we are looking for


The ideal candidate will have the following qualities, skills, and experience:



  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field

  • Ability to reason about data (ability to identify issues, inconsistencies, and edge cases)

  • Solid understanding of data engineering concepts (ETL, data modeling, data warehousing)

  • Experience building or working with production data systems

  • Understanding of distributed systems, data storage, and processing trade-offs

  • Curiosity and ownership mindset when working on complex systems
