What is the position?
The Senior IT Engineer will design, build, and optimize modern cloud-based data platforms using Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran. This role is ideal for an experienced, hands-on engineer who thrives in developing scalable data solutions, implementing engineering best practices, and driving reliable, production-ready data pipelines with minimal oversight.
What are the responsibilities?
As a Senior IT Engineer, you will:
- Develop and support scalable ELT pipelines utilizing Fivetran, dbt, and Snowflake.
- Create and maintain reusable dbt models, macros, testing frameworks, and documentation.
- Design efficient data models while improving Snowflake performance and cost optimization.
- Build automation and operational tools using Python.
- Implement Git-based development workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD deployment processes.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain reliable production data pipelines.
- Partner with technical and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions.
What are the requirements?
- 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran in production environments (required).
- Advanced SQL skills with experience developing complex data transformations.
- Strong Python programming experience for automation and data engineering.
- Experience with Git version control, collaborative development, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of dimensional modeling, data warehousing, and data quality best practices.
- Experience with Airflow, Astronomer, or similar orchestration tools is preferred.
- Financial services or banking industry experience is preferred.
