Senior BI Developer

Location: Orrville, Ohio (Close proximity to Cleveland/Akron)
Work Arrangements: Hybrid - onsite a minimum of 9 days a month primarily during core weeks as determined by the Company; maybe more as business need requires
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain curated data transformations, scalable data assets and reporting objects in the Databricks Platinum layer to support enterprise BI and analytics use cases.
- Design, develop and maintain Tableau dashboards and other visualizations by ensuring alignment to architectural standards and optimization for performance and usability.
- Translate business requirements into efficient, well-structured data transformations and semantic layers using SQL and other supported languages.
- Implement performance tuning and optimization strategies for large-scale data processing and BI workloads.
- Support the design and operation of data pipelines, partnering with Enterprise Data Platform teams on their delivery of data engineering, modeling and governance activities.
- Execute audit and compliance activities involving BI reports. Serve as an escalation point for analytics resources within business functions.
- Contribute to and advocate for data governance, naming standards and development lifecycle practices.
- Identify and implement improvements to BI architecture, tooling, and development processes that support data quality, consistency and reliability across curated datasets.
- Mentor junior team members and provide subject matter expertise on BI development and visualization best practices as well as reporting enablement.
- 3+ years of experience in BI development, analytics engineering or related roles
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Business, Engineering, MIS, Computer Science, or related field) or specialized training in Information Technology and/or Data Analytics.
- Strong experience with Databricks or similar cloud data platforms, including data transformation development
- Experience in SQL-based languages (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle SQL, or MySQL) for data extraction, transformation, and analysis across complex datasets
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices within data and analytics development
- Strong understanding of performance optimization techniques for large datasets
- Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and well-documented data solutions
- Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working in CPG-related analytics environments or supporting administrative functions such as Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Communications, Legal, Enterprise Risk, Ethics & Compliance.
- Experience with preparing data and developing visualizations in Tableau
- Experience integrating Databricks with enterprise BI ecosystems
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages for data processing
- Experience executing data governance and metadata management utilizing platforms such as Atlan
- Experience applying artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and technology toward solution development and analytics use cases
- Knowledge of modern IT concepts such as Cloud Computing and Infrastructure as Code
- Familiarity with modern data architecture concepts such as Lakehouse, ELT frameworks, and data orchestration tools
