The role

We are looking for a Product Analytics Engineer to join our product team in Aarhus.

This is not a role where you only build pipelines. You own Candeno's data and analytics layer within your domain: the data warehouse, the BI and dashboards, and the instrumentation that turns product usage and AI interactions into reliable data. Part of the work is figuring out the right question before you build the answer. The rest is building it well.

We work AI-augmented. Modern AI tools are a natural part of how we work, so more of the routine building is handled for you. That makes the harder, more valuable work the judgement: what to measure, how to model it, and whether the numbers can be trusted. We use AI to move faster, and we believe people are what make sure we build the right things and trust the right data.

Your work will reach hundreds of thousands of people across the Nordics: job seekers navigating labour market reforms, employment professionals adapting to new digitalisation strategies, and the institutions managing that change. The dashboards and data you build inform decisions inside Candeno and in the hands of our customers, so keeping them trustworthy matters.

What you will work on

Candeno serves municipalities, unemployment funds, and educational institutions across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. The platform has three sides: candidates navigating the labour market, advisors guiding them through digitalisation and compliance workflows, and companies recruiting talent. One platform, many contexts. Our products increasingly run on data and AI, and this role builds the foundation underneath them.

Discovery (analysis and design)

• Work with product people and customers to understand what a dashboard or a data model actually needs to answer, before you build it. AI helps us move fast, so the harder work is knowing what is worth measuring.

• Model the data. Decide access patterns and weigh the tradeoffs between flexibility and control, with architecture direction from our Lead Architect.

Delivery (build and operate)

• Build and maintain the data warehouse, data pipelines, and ETL or ELT flows between Candeno's platform and the warehouse.

• Build and maintain internal and customer-facing dashboards, so the right data reaches the right audience in a form that drives decisions.

• Instrument our AI chats, agents, and product usage so requests and usage signals become structured, first-class data, and work with engineers to keep it accessible for AI and ML use.

• Write clean, maintainable code, using AI tools where they help and applying judgement to what they produce.

Quality and craft

• Keep data trustworthy. Care about data quality and make it something the team can rely on.

• Meet regulatory requirements in a data-sensitive sector, with guidance from our legal advisor.

• Share what you know and help raise data competence across the team. This is knowledge-sharing, not people management.

Who we are looking for

You are a data and analytics engineer who is as comfortable with the question as with the query. Your foundation is solid delivery in data and BI, and your edge is knowing what is worth measuring before you build it.

You will need:

• A few years building and maintaining data warehouses and BI or dashboards, ideally in SaaS or a product company. Full build experience matters more than years.

• Solid data modelling skills, and comfort navigating the tradeoffs between flexibility and control.

• Experience building data pipelines and ETL or ELT flows. Modern transformation tooling such as dbt is a plus.

• An understanding of what AI and ML need from data, in structure and quality. You can grow into this.

• A considered approach to AI in your workflow. You use modern tools well, and you check what they produce critically.

• Clear communication. You can explain a data tradeoff to a product manager, an engineer, and a customer, and make it feel simple.

• Comfort working with customers directly.

The kind of person who does well here:

• Curious about the question, not only the query.

• Ownership mindset. You follow a problem all the way through.

• Comfortable making decisions without a perfect foundation, and honest about the tradeoffs when you do.

• Direct. You share work early, give feedback clearly, and push back when something is not right.

What the first six months look like

After one month

You understand Candeno's platform, our BI setup and data flows, and the team. You have taken ownership of your first scoped tasks and you are active in how the team works.

After three months

You are building key parts of the warehouse and BI independently and contributing to product and AI instrumentation. You are starting to engage with customer analytics needs, with support.

After six months

You reliably own and deliver within the data and analytics domain. The dashboards and instrumentation you build are in real use, and you are a dependable go-to for product analytics questions, working within architecture direction from the Lead Architect.

Working at Candeno

We are a scale-up. That means real ownership, real impact, and a product that is still being shaped by the people who work on it.

We are based in Aarhus, and this is an on-site role. The team is small, cross-functional, and works closely together. You will have real ownership of your work and close proximity to product, engineering, and our customers.

We are direct and focused on doing the right thing for users. We share work early and expect you to do the same.

What we offer

• Pension scheme and health insurance

• 5 extra days off after 2 years of seniority (10 in total)

• Daily lunch from Meyers Madhus

• A shared milestone programme that celebrates successes big and small

• An active social life: team events, clubs, and an engaged social committee

The process

• A short screening call

• A first interview, a deeper conversation about your experience and the role

• A case interview, a practical brief sent in advance

No cover letter. You will answer three short questions when you apply.
