Description & RequirementsWho we are looking forDeloitte is looking for a talented and proactive GCP Cloud/DevOps Engineer to join our growing infrastructure team. In this role, you will be the bridge between our software development and operations, ensuring our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure is scalable, secure, and highly reliable. You will champion automation, maintain our CI/CD pipelines, manage our hybrid compute environment (GKE & Cloud Run), and oversee our managed database infrastructure.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Language Skills:English B2 level (or higher)is strictly required. You must be able to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) in an international team environment.
- Application Build & Containerization:Proven ability to build, containerize (usingDockerorPodman), and deploy applications across various stacks, for example:
- Java / Spring Boot(Maven/Gradle)
- Node.js
- Python
- GCP Expertise:3+ years of hands-on experience managing production environments on Google Cloud Platform.
- Database Management (Cloud SQL):Strong experience provisioning, configuring, and maintainingCloud SQL(PostgreSQL or MySQL) instances, including handling high availability, read replicas, and backups.
- Container Orchestration & Serverless:Deep understanding of container orchestration usingGoogle Kubernetes Engine (GKE)as well as serverless container deployment usingCloud Run.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC):Proficiency withTerraformto provision and manage cloud resources.
- CI/CD:Experience building and maintaining pipelines using tools likeCloud Build, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
- Networking:Understanding of VPCs, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud DNS, Firewalls, and Private IP connectivity for databases.
- Security:Strong understanding of IAM roles, Workload Identity, service accounts, and cloud security best practices.

- Architecture & Design:Design, deploy, and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure on GCP using Terraform.
- Database Administration:ConfigureCloud SQLinstances for performance and security, manage VPC peering/Private Service Connect, and implement disaster recovery strategies (backups/failover).
- Application Packaging:Collaborate with developers to write and optimizeDockerfilesfor Spring Boot, Node.js, and Python applications, ensuring efficient image layering and security scanning.
- Pipeline Management:Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable seamless code deployment toGKE,Cloud Run, and database schema migrations.
- Environment Management:Manage GKE cluster upgrades and node pools, while also optimizing Cloud Run service concurrency and autoscaling settings.
- Reliability Engineering:Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure system uptime.
- Cost Optimization:Monitor cloud usage (FinOps) to choose the most cost-effective compute and database sizing options.
- Programming: Python
- Language Skills:Knowledge ofGermanis a big plus (but not mandatory).
- Certifications:Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect certification.
- Scripting:Strong coding skills in Python, Go, or Bash for automation scripts.
- NoSQL/Data Warehousing:Experience managing Firestore, Bigtable, or BigQuery.
- Service Mesh:Experience with Istio or Anthos Service Mesh.
- GitOps:Experience with ArgoCD or Flux.
