We are currently partnering with a well-established international iGaming product company with 400+ employees globally, operating large-scale, high-availability digital platforms across multiple markets.

As part of their continued growth, they are expanding their engineering presence in Bulgaria and are currently looking for a hands-on AWS DevOps Team Lead to lead and grow a distributed infrastructure team.

The team currently consists of 5 engineers based in Bulgaria and 1 engineer in Poland, and we are looking for someone who can bring strong technical leadership, people management, structure, and operational excellence.

This is not a “people manager only” role.

We are looking for a leader who still enjoys being close to technology, solving infrastructure challenges, mentoring engineers, and driving modern DevOps practices in a fast-moving, highly scalable environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed team of 6 DevOps / Platform Engineers (5 in Bulgaria, 1 in Poland)
• Drive team performance, technical direction, prioritization, and engineering best practices
• Act as a trusted technical leader while remaining hands-on when needed
• Foster a high-performance engineering culture focused on ownership, automation, scalability, and reliability
• Design, optimize, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes (EKS) environments
• Own and improve container orchestration, scalability, reliability, and infrastructure cost optimization
• Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and platform efficiency
• Drive Infrastructure as Code initiatives using Terraform
• Promote modern GitOps principles and automation-first engineering practices
• Partner closely with Engineering, Security, Architecture, and Product teams
• Improve observability, monitoring, incident response, and operational resilience

Tech Environment

AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, Helm, Jenkins, CI/CD, FluxCD / GitOps, Kafka, AWS MSK, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Linkerd, Kong API Gateway, Python, Bash, Groovy, Cloud-Native Architecture, Infrastructure Automation

What We’re Looking For:

Leadership & Management

• Strong and proven people management experience leading DevOps, Platform, Infrastructure, or SRE teams
• Experience managing distributed teams and creating structure, accountability, and engineering excellence
• Proven track record of mentoring, coaching, performance management, and growing engineers
• Ability to balance technical leadership with strong people leadership
• A leader who can challenge teams, improve processes, and create long-term engineering standards

Technical Background

• 6+ years of hands-on DevOps / Platform Engineering experience
• Previous experience as a DevOps Team Lead, Platform Team Lead, Technical Lead, or Engineering Lead ( at least 2-3 years)
• Strong expertise with AWS cloud infrastructure
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, containerized environments, and cloud-native ecosystems
• Strong experience with Terraform, automation, and Infrastructure as Code
• Experience building scalable and reliable CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, TLS, ingress, service mesh)
• Experience operating high-scale production systems

Nice to Have

Experience in iGaming, FinTech, Forex, Crypto, Payments, Trading, or other highly regulated, high-availability environments would be considered a strong advantage - but is not mandatory.
