Senior Data Solution Engineer

You will partner with technical decision makers, architects, data leaders, and executives to design secure, scalable, and business-aligned solutions. Through architecture workshops, Proof of Concepts, technical strategy sessions, and hands-on engagements, you will help customers realize the full value of Microsoft's cloud data platform and AI ecosystem.
This role offers the opportunity to drive technical decisions, influence enterprise data strategies, and shape some of the largest cloud and AI transformations in the market. Based on Microsoft’s Solution Engineering organization.
Responsibilities
Customer Technical Leadership
- Lead technical engagements with enterprise customers, including architecture reviews, envisioning workshops, strategy sessions, Proof of Concepts (POCs), and pilots.
- Drive customer technical decisions and accelerate adoption of Microsoft Data & AI platforms.
- Design and recommend modern data architectures spanning:
- Microsoft Fabric
- Azure Databricks
- Azure SQL
- Cosmos DB
- PostgreSQL
- Purview
- Guide customers through database modernization, analytics transformation, and AI-ready data platform design.
- Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance solution architectures aligned with customer business requirements.
- Address technical blockers and orchestrate resources across engineering, product groups, partners, and account teams.
- Help customers establish data foundations required for Generative AI and Agentic AI workloads.
- Drive adoption of AI-enabled analytics, real-time intelligence, and intelligent applications.
- Deliver demos, hackathons, architecture sessions, and hands-on-keyboard engagements.
- Influence technical stakeholders and executive decision makers.
- Maintain expertise in modern data platform technologies and industry trends.
- Contribute reusable intellectual property, reference architectures, and best practices to the broader Microsoft community
- 10+ years of technical pre-sales, technical consulting, cloud architecture, or related experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Analytics, or related field

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering enterprise-scale analytics or data modernization initiatives.
- Expertise with competing data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Teradata, Exadata, or Hadoop ecosystems.
- Proven experience leading architecture workshops, hackathons, POCs, or production deployments.
- Experience supporting AI, GenAI, or advanced analytics workloads.
- Strong executive communication and customer-facing consulting skills.

- DP-600 Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
- DP-700 Fabric Data Engineer Associate
- DP-420 Azure Cosmos DB Developer
- DP-300 Azure Database Administrator Associate
- AI-102 Azure AI Engineer Associate (preferred)
