Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced AWS Architect to support our Quality Center of Excellence (COE). This role will focus on designing scalable AWS cloud solutions, supporting cloud-native application development, and driving engineering best practices across development teams. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader who can work independently, take ownership of initiatives, and leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available AWS cloud solutions.
- Architect and support cloud-native applications and modernization initiatives.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, and QA teams to establish best practices and technical standards.
- Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation.
- Evaluate and implement AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams.
- Create architecture documentation and communicate technical solutions to stakeholders.
- Take ownership of projects and drive initiatives with minimal supervision.
- 10+ years of experience in software development, cloud engineering, or solution architecture.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS solutions.
- Experience developing applications hosted in AWS or other cloud environments.
- Knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, API Gateway, RDS, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to Agentic AI or AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Amazon Q.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives from concept through implementation.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).
- Experience with microservices, serverless architecture, and cloud modernization.
- Experience implementing engineering standards or supporting a Center of Excellence.
- Knowledge of modern software development best practices and Agile methodologies.
